Prom Dress

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The love the whole dress. Especially the lining and underlining structure. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Put horsehair braid in the hem. Use easy but secure fasteners on the bodice (at back where the two fronts join)...after many snaps I reverted to the unthinkable...velcro! Otherwise the snaps would pop open or be too loose. they weren't adjustable, and they need to be secure but not tight to give the bodice the right fit.

Laurafs asked:
please post finished pictures! I think I have this pattern, but chicken out of making it, the line drawings look great... but I'm always afraid the dress will not look like the line drawings.
Andrea924 answered:
I have made this once before only short and out of cotton. it really does turn out like the line drawing. I'll post a picture soon.

Joanna Y asked:
Thanks. I love your dress. Did you change anything from the original pattern. It looks much better than the picture on the pattern envelope.
Andrea924 answered:
I made the dress just as the pattern had it with no changes. I did put " horse hair " braid in the hem, so that might look a bit different.
