What are you most proud of? The general shape of the bird. I haven't made a toy pattern for a bird before and didn't know how well the gussets would work. I'm really pleased with the colour although I wish the ribbons were a bit different, but I made this with what I had - no shopping at all. That said, the beak and brow are wrong, but I'm forgiving myself for a first try. I'm thinking of making it again and improving the pattern, this time for a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo. And then there're galahs and lorikeets and King Parrots... What advice would you give someone starting this project? Well, it's not good enough to share yet. But if you're going it alone, practise sewing tight corners with your fabric first. Detail was lost in this design because I wasn't familiar with the stretchy fleece.
