Jersey T-shirt

What are you most proud of? Getting the fit right and putting the neckband on first attempt and matching up the chevrons in the design. It is a bit cold at the moment so I've used the cowl pattern from Eileen Roche's Machine Embroidered T-shirt class and added a removable cowl neckband. Soft and warm. What advice would you give someone starting this project? The fabric I chose was slippery and had a definite pattern which needed to be matched. I had some difficulty with skipped stitches when I was top stitching. I found using paper was too hard to get out of the twin needle stitching I was able to overcome that by using a strip on water soluble stabilizer instead.. cut away the excess after the stitching was complete and put the whole thing in the wash to remove any left overs. No skipped stitches! I would agree with the ladies and suggest you choose something a bit plainer to start with. Take plenty of time don't skip any fitting or pressing steps.
