Types and Shadows

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Brilliant Sunset Link to website or photo www.mccallsquilting.com/quickquilts/articles/Brilliant_Sunset What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the border...I had a LOT of triangles left over, so I kept piecing them together till I came up with this. Not sure if someone thought if it before me, but, it was a lot of work and a lot of fun putting it together and letting the colors morph and change throughout the border, almost like the do in the quilt itself. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is a King size. I didn't start out thinking it would be this big, but, I just stuck with it, and did it one square at a time. Although I pre-washed the backing, when I washed it when it was finished (to remove some quilt pen from it) the backing bled, and now the quilt is mostly pink! : (

It's beautiful, I really like your fabrics
sharmacdonald answered:
thanks! This one gives me "warm fuzzies" It's actually at my quilter's house right now, in line for some long arm magic...can't wait to get it on my bed
Marie Flannery asked:
This is stunning ... scrappy-beautiful! I love your quilts!!

Thank you! It's a pleasure to make them, and to share them
LisainOhio asked:
I absolutely love it! What a fantastic job.
sharmacdonald answered:
thank you...sad part is that I used a very dark burgundy for the back...from Sturbridge Village (Mass.) Thought they had GREAT quiltling material that I just loved. Even though I did pre wash it, it still bled onto the quilt when I had to wash it after it was made...so now much of that light beige around the inside and outside border is all some shade of pink!!
