Retro Windows Table Runner

Summery colors adding a lovely bright accent to my table. The block is called Cathedral Window and it was my first attempt - gotta say I'm very happy with the result. Seam allowance is super important so this project gave me a chance to really practice on cutting and sewing seams correctly.

Q&A with Louisa Bauman

MrsBoots asked:
BEAUTIFUL! Which of the precursor did you use?
Louisa Bauman answered:
I have been watching tutorials from the Missouri Star Quilt Company which gave me the inspiration to try this block, however there are many similar patterns available through various Craftsy designers. Munchkin Quilts does one very similar to the pattern block I tried.
Angeliasue asked:
Where can we find this pattern? I've looked all over Craftsy. I don't care for the Munchkin pattern. Thanks.
Louisa Bauman answered:
Hello Angeliasue - the basics for the block was taken from a YouTube tutorial by the Missouri Star Quilt company. It's a very clear tutorial, good for learning the technique which can then be used for other patterns. I hope this helps?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akKU0zg-qaw
cmpink16520231 asked:
What size blocks did you use for your table runner?
Louisa Bauman answered:
Hello - I used 5" charm pack squares for the blocks, including the white boarders.

How beautiful. I am a big fan of precuts as I have visual impairment which can make my cuts a bit wonky. Thank you for sharing it is definitely on my to do list. I buy a charm pack in jut about every fabric. It is a quick way to build a stash without spending a fortune. Merry Chridtmas
Louisa Bauman answered:
Thank you for your kind comment! I really did enjoy making this. I'm learning that I don't enjoy small piecing projects so this one was a favorite of mine. I hope you have fun with all your collected charm packs! Merry Christmas to you too :)
