Project

Pretty Posies

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm really proud of the way it turned out. I love doing handwork, but am unable to do much of it any more. Using the machine to stitch down the appliques was easy and I still had the opportunity to add a little hand embroidery. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Go for it!! Using a foundation and glue stick to prepare pieces for applique is so much easier than templates that use a hot iron and starch.

Q&A with stitchinfrenzy

Debbie Holbrook asked:
Love this, I have never done applique and am wanting to try. You did a beautiful job and I love your fabric.
stitchinfrenzy answered:
Thank you so much!
K Lee 2Strings asked:
Gorgeous! Love those bright contrasting colors so filled with life.
stitchinfrenzy answered:
Thanks. I love anything bright!

Beautiful!
stitchinfrenzy answered:
Thank you!
Beth Ferrier asked:
A-mazing! Absolutely gorgeous. Did you hand embroider the details on the petals? Love the beads. Love.
stitchinfrenzy answered:
Thank you! I did a stem stitch around the inner petals with a variegated thread and just straight stitch details inside. What looks like beads is actually a metallic gold embroidery thread stitched with straight stitches between the other stitches. It seemed to have an amazing effect! This class has been so much fun, I've already started another project!

Don't turn your back, or this might belong to me. It is gorgeous!
stitchinfrenzy answered:
I think we've been through this a couple of times already, my friend! This one's MINE!
