Love the USA

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I love the older look of the quilt and I think the design really worked out well. Most of all I gave it to my son as a gift and he absolutely loves it. Not shown in the pictures is the tan fleece edging I added per my son's request. He wanted something soft and fuzzy around the edges. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Everyone can be creative; you just can't be afraid to put pieces together. Even if you don't like it someone else might. Don't you go into a clothing store and look at some of the clothes and hate them? Somebody likes them and buys them even if you would not be caught dead wearing them. Just go for it and see what happens. I had an idea. Picked out the fabric and put the squares I cut into piles bases on colors (reds, whites, and blues) then I moved repeats away from each other. I sewed the squares together to make random strips. Then I randomly put the strips together as red and white stripes and the blue star corner. All the blue prints have star patterns in shades of blue. The Reds and whites have striped or star patterns in various arrangements and shades of the main color. Randomly putting the quilt together worked out perfect for what I had in mind. I had an idea and did it without fear of failure. I love it and my son loves it. All that matters since I am not selling it. I used to take apart things I made and did not like; until people started purchasing the things I did not like and had not gotten around to taking apart.
