Q&A with Pie

Sally Jo asked:
I love how you have already quilted the blocks.
Pie answered:
Thanks. I am fairly new to quilting and after struggling with quilting a big quilt on a little machine; this is the way to go for me!
nmackay asked:
This looks lovely! I love the variegated thread you are using. I am thinking of quilting as I go, as I also have a regular sized machine, and being a newbie, feel that I will struggle trying to fit a large quilt.
Pie answered:
Thank you. I'm also taking Ann Peterson's class Big Project's on Little Machines. It's been great. Until I get better at FMQ, breaking the quilt into pieces is the way to go. I made a larger quilt recently and ripped out the quilting twice and gave up on FQM and used my walking foot.
Ann C asked:
Great quilt work. Very inspirational
Pie answered:
Thank you!
Rosiehauk asked:
Love how you finished this! It's amazing what a difference quilting can make.
Pie answered:
Thanks. I agree; lots of negative space on this block.
HeatherIsaacson asked:
I like how you have quilted and finished each block. Are they quilted separately and then joined or are they quilted in separte quilts or are they quilted as one quilt? I hope you don't mind me asking.
Pie answered:
I am quilting each block separately and then will join them with sashing. I am trying the technique from the Big Quilts, Small Machines class. It doesn't look too hard and the quilting is much easier this way.
