Balkin Puzzle

What are you most proud of? Trying to make Civil War fabric work with a dark background What advice would you give someone starting this project? I loved doing this with the new way we were taught doing half square triangles it was great. My block came our really great. I am really happy with my colors. Just jump in and try all kinds of colors it really does work.

Q&A with gmatloff

ndlz1 asked:
Loving it!
gmatloff answered:
Thanks so much.
Nina1954 asked:
Very nice! I am using up my Civil War stash as well...but bought ivory background fabric. I like your dark one!
gmatloff answered:
Thanks still not sure if it is too dark or not, but my husband really likes it and it is going to be for him so we shall see. I am going to go and take a look at yours.
Ladybev asked:
The dark to me is rich and a " man quilt" should be more subdued, I think. I just made one for my husband in the Birch bark Lodge line (browns, hunter green, beige, pumpkin) all mostly woodsy prints
gmatloff answered:
Yes I agree why don't you post that quilt you made you dh would love to see the colors. It sounds really beautiful.
ginnyt3 asked:
I also love your colors.
gmatloff answered:
Thank you.
