Sweet Home Alabama is a 2.5" strip friendly quilt pattern based on a vintage Alabama quilt block. It is the perfect quilt to use up leftover jelly roll strips and assorted scraps. The pattern cover quilt is the lap size (50" x 66") and was made using a jelly roll of Kate Spain's Canyon fabric and a few yellow scraps of my own. The quilt is best made with a contrasting fabric for the cornerstones. This will create the sharp diagonal lines reminiscent of an Irish Chain quilt. Assorted alternate quilt sizes are included in the pattern--from baby to twin. Also included are the required number of pieces needed to make the quilt from scraps--leftover fat quarters, layer cake squares, yardage, etc. The directions are easy to follow and this quilt would be perfect for a beginning quilter. This listing is the for the downloadable PDF version. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Sew an accurate 1/4" seam Use a rotary cutter and mat
