This is the first block in "Home", a quilt along, block of the month, mystery quilt. The house block will be the center block and the largest in this quilt along project. One or more new block patterns will be added each month through November. When finished the house will be surrounded by smaller blocks depicting various items found in and around a loving home. Participants in the quilt along are contributing their ideas for what should be included in these blocks. It's already becoming a community project where input is very much welcomed. The house block is very versatile. It that can be used in this "Home" quilt or placed in a different quilt. It could even be set in a pretty border and stand alone as a smaller wall quilt. The pattern includes detailed, illustrated instructions, full size templates for the applique pieces, and a full size layout plan. When I retired from a lifetime of teaching in 2007, I was worried that I'd quickly get bored. That concern didn't last long at all. I was thrilled to discover that there really is life outside of the classroom. I spend parts of most of my days indulging in my favorite hobbies of quilting and sewing. I started designing patterns as an experiment, and no one was more surprised than I was to find that other people liked my little designs. I'm a teacher at heart, so I do try to write my patterns in such a way that beginning quilters can follow them. I include lots of details, photos, and little informative notes. I make myself easily available to my customers, and I respond to all questions as quickly and as thoroughly as I can. Contact Information: Blog:, Facebook Page:, Email:
