This is the first Craftsy project I have completed. I found Wendy's Pictoral Quilting with Machine applique both very inspiring and instructive. I can't wait to fix this piece to my wall and begin another project.

I left the border unquilted because I wanted to retain the velvety look of the cotton. It is difficult to see the binding in the photo. It is the same fabric as the center of the coneflower. The edges of the hanging are actually straight but the camera picks up the slightest bit if curve.

Yea for you to finish your coneflower.. great choices of fabrics... the ground fabric really as great visual texture...!!
