Gentle Breezes

Project Description

What was your source for this knitting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo HeartStrings #H86 Gentle Breezes Stole Link to website or photo www.heartstringsfiberarts.com/h86.shtm What are you most proud of? The ends of the stole are done in a wide lace border reminiscent of breaking waves. Beads give a glint of sunlight off the waves. The main lace stitch pattern gives the feel of breezes and the gentle swells of the ocean. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Fittingly, for the sample shown I chose a gently variegated gray/blue/green yarn in a color called Ocean Breeze. But feel free to choose yarn and bead colors to match the picture story you imagine of gentle breezes on a morning or evening walk.

What you will need

  • 1 skein Sandrasingh.com Lace (100% merino wool
  • single ply lace gauge
  • 950 yds/3.5 oz
  • color Ocean Breeze. 25g Miyuki size 8/0 (3 mm diameter) glass seed beads
  • color #536 Turquoise Ceylon

JackieES answered:
Maybe Craftsy can help you with one of their classes? You also might want to join my Knitting Bits of Lace group (membership is free) where we are doing small, lace-edging projects. You get a free project pattern each month while you are a member. It's a great way to learn and get comfortable with knitting lace. http://www.knitheartstrings.com
