Bride and groom / wedding cake

Project Description

What was your source for this knitting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Wedding cake (by Alan Dart) Link to website or photo www.alandart.co.uk/product/all-patterns/wedding-cake/ What are you most proud of? The bride's dress and veil have been customised to reflect the real thing. I thought the little wedding rings were fun too. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use quite thick/stiff wadding for the cake. Mine is a little soft and the cake looks a bit like a squashed ball! You'll need a variety of needles for the various sewing jobs needed. A long straight darning needle was very helpful with the knots for the flowers in the bouquet. The roses around the cake are the fiddliest part but by the time you've done six you get the knack.

What you will need

  • Double knitting wool Polyester filling Wadding for the cake edge Cake board

http://www.alandart.co.uk/product/all-patterns/wedding-cake/ This is the link to the pattern. The bridesmaids are the same as the bride but using a colour and not doing the veil and bouquet.
