PATTERN DETAILS

My favorite class in high school was geometry (yes, I am a geek). I loved the way all the angles and sides of geometric shapes followed predictable rules. My favorite shape of all was the equilateral triangle. I love the way several of them can fit together to make larger triangles, diamonds or even hexagons (these are the sorts of things that amuse you when you're a geek). These socks are made of triangles that grow off each other to make two rows of triangles joined into a tube. The tube becomes the leg of the sock, with stitches picked up off one edge to become the cuff and the other edge to become the foot. Some of the steps are a little bit tricky, but not too hard. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit, purl, ssk, k2tog, p2tog, slip stitches, pick up stitches, graft (Kitchener stitch), sew (mattress stitch) GAUGE 40 sts/42 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Women's S, M, L Leg circumference: 6.5, 7.25, 8 inches Foot circumference: 6.75, 7.75, 8.5 inches SUGGESTED YARN 380 yards of Fingering weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Happy Fuzzy Yarn Corrie sock (75% superwash Corriedale wool/25% nylon) COLORWAY Shown in Mulberry, which has been discontinued.
