I actually named this shawl after my brilliant, wonderful, incredible, beautiful, compassionate daughter, Melina! You brighten my life, every day. Thanks for being YOU! This is a beautiful, HUGE, lace shawl. Simple, yet elegant. The pattern repeats are easily memorized. The beads add just the right amount of sparkle and weigh down the featherlight yarn a bit. This shawl weighs next to nothing, but due to it being made of alpaca yarn, it is still giving a good amount of warmth. Several of my customers have made this shawl for wedding presents. What a great idea! Get the pattern, knit the shawl and get ready for the compliments. Gauge is not incredibly important for this project. Many thanks also to Knitty Lizzy on FB for testing this and many others of my patterns for me! YOU ROCK, GIRL!! I want to give a thanks to my husband at this point, who has put up with my antics over the years and has been encouraging me and believing in me always! Thank you baby! I love you! And to my children: I think you are the most amazing little monkeys around and I would not want to be without any of you ever again!
