This is a companion pattern, to go with my conker. I think horse chestnut leaves are beautiful, and I really enjoyed the challenge of designing the different sized leaflets. I have knitted my samples in Rowan Tweed, and a sock wool called Strompegarn, both 4ply. But looking at horse chestnut leaves in my local park, I have found a huge variety of colours and sizes. The pattern would also work in DK if you wanted a larger leaf. If you want to find out a bit more about horse chestnut leaves and conkers have a look at my blog. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished Leaf is approx 18cm wide

Recommended with this pattern

  • Wool 4ply - leaf coloured

The inspiration for my knitting patterns often comes from nature. I love little knitting projects, and try my hardest to be realistic with my plant and animal designs. Often my projects start from something very personal: my own house or my husband's first car. Then I develop them into something that I think will be appealing. I live on the outskirts of London, and work part-time at a local school. My own children are always doing something creative. At school I love the days when we get really messy.
