This is one of my most popular patterns - modern and functional A cute cabled baby hat with single button chin fastening, earflaps and an aviator style front flap. The single cable pattern is very simple, with a six row repeat and would be ideal for someone who is trying cable knitting for the first time. My patterns are written in standard US/UK terms with clear instructions and plenty of pictures to guide you. Yarn: Double knit/light worsted/8 ply Please use the hashtag #lovefibrespattern to share what you have made with this pattern on Instagram SIZES: 0 - 3 months - 12" (30 cm) relaxed around brim, 6" (15 cm) high 3 - 6 months - 13" (33 cm) relaxed around brim, 6.5" (16.5 cm) high 6 - 12 months - 14" (35 cm) relaxed around brim, 7" (17.5 cm) high 1 - 2 years - 16" (40 cm) relaxed around brim, 7.25" (18.5 cm) high REQUIREMENTS: 87 - 170 yards (80 - 155 metres) double knit yarn, depending on the size you're making US size 3 (3.25 mm) straight knitting needles US size 6 (4 mm) straight knitting needles Two 3/4" (18 mm) buttons for aviator flap One 1/2" (10 mm) button for chin strap Cable needle 2 stitch holders SKILLS NEEDED: knit purl increase decrease GAUGE 22st and 30 rows to a 4" (10cm) square over stockinette on US size 6 (4 mm) needles
