Calgary can get very cold in the winter - like minus 40! But then the chinooks come and we warm back up to the positive digits. This hat was designed to keep us cozy while we wait for the next chinook. This cute hat is a great way of learning how to knit colorwork in the round. The needles are larger than your typical colorwork project, so the results are quick to see! This hat is fun to knit - just by changing the background color from light to dark or vice versa, it can make the whole toque look completely different. The Chinook Flap Hat is also a great way of trying out colorwork for the first time and using up all those pesky scraps of yarn :) The pattern includes a written pattern, a chart for the colorwork and instructions on how to crochet the trim. This is the sister hat to the Chinook Toque found here on Craftsy! I started crafting when I was a wee child. I learned to knit and crochet at a young age and loved it!
