This Owl Hat was going to be apart of a costume that I wanted to make for my youngest daughter. The costume never got finished, but the hat did! It's the perfect hat for any child, boy or girl. The sizing can be adjusted by chaining more or less for the foundation and crocheting more or less rounds. With a hat so easy to customize, you'll be designing your own hat in no time flat! The body of the hat uses less than one skein of yarn, so you could easily whip up two or more hats with just one skein of Red Heart Super Saver. The eyes, beak and pupils can be done using yarn scraps. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY double crochet work the opposite side of a foundation chain decrease reverse single crochet GAUGE 12 dc = 4" 7 Rows = 4" SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS This hat is sized to fit a child ages 2-4 PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Red Heart Super Saver COLORWAY Caffe Latte, Chocolate, Buff; Carrot, White, Black

Hello all, My name is CheVon Bell and I absolutely LOVE to crochet! I crochet amigurumi (which is a fancy way of saying crocheted stuffed animal), sweaters, hats, and anything else that comes to mind. I've done sewing, I've tried knitting; but for me, crochet is the way to go! I began with knitting when I was pregnant with child number two, but found I didn't have the patience for it. Then I turned to crochet and never turned back. After child number 2 was born, I tried my hand at knitting again and it finally stuck! Also, and by no means secondary to crochet, I have 3 lovey daughters--5, 7, and 11 years old--and a wonderfully supportive husband. ^_^
