Melanie Rice Handworks
~ Colorspot Designs is now Melanie Rice Handworks ~ I am a freelance designer from Texas who enjoys knitting, crochet, needlework, and playing classical piano. I taught myself to knit years ago when I wanted a sweater with a schoolhouse on it for my first-grader. While raising children and working, my knitting time was limited. Upon discovering Ravelry, my interest in fiber arts was renewed, and I now focus on producing practical, adaptable, classic designs for knitting and crochet. I am inspired by simplicity, organization, and of course, other talented designers. I strive to write clear and concise patterns, to include affordable yarns for samples, and to give acknowledgement to stitch pattern sources. I am fortunate to have patterns featured in Interweave Knits Magazine, LoveKnitting’s Winter Catalogs and monthly Top 10 Patterns, and soon, Craftsy Unlimited. I hope you find something in the shop that you will enjoy, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have a question!
