First time with Log Cabin

Project Description

What are you most proud of? My edges! Deborah has some amazing advice about how to keep track of the shuttles looping around each other. Edge thread up - shuttle goes up. Edge thread down - shuttle goes down. It's perfect. And I love that Log Cabin really works! Look at those blocks changing direction! What advice would you give someone starting this project? I decided to make my own warp plan instead of following the table runner plan and ended up with 4 dark threads instead of 2 at half of the direction changes. I think I know what I did now and I guess it is all part of the learning process. I'm calling it a design feature!

What you will need

  • Big skeins of Bernat Handicrafter cotton in black and grey. Worsted weight. Ashford RH loom - 16 inch. Weaving 14 inches centered. 7.5 dent heddle

Deborah Jarchow asked:
i love your design element!
kscarrie answered:
lol! Thanks! =) I can't quite stop myself from mentioning it to people when I show it off though. But hopefully that will wear off. I like the extra bold stripes.
Gwyn Hug asked:
Gorgeous log cabin! It is really neat how this design looks like the blocks are changing direction. :)
kscarrie answered:
Thank you! It just seems like magic on this first project.
pekingduk asked:
I love the look of this. The way you have changed it up is exciting and really makes the most of the colors.

Thanks! I need to make another one. =)
