[Weaving#1] Simple scarf

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Turned the unwanted unloved yarn into something I'd love to wear. What advice would you give someone starting this project? (1) DON'T BE AFRAID. Never fear if it'll look ugly or what. After all, it's the first weaving project. It's destined to look imperfect. Who cares? You'll be having fun regardless. (2) Watch the first few videos first before attempting to start. (3) Use the right yarn for the available dent or use the right dent for the yarn. I was stupid enough to try to warp it up with a worsted weight wool which was disastrous.

What you will need

  • Stripey hand-painted yarn in chocolate & fuchsia. Found in my long neglected stash. Already wound up so I can't be certain where I got it from
  • but I vaguely remember it's from Knitting Goddess (UK). 75% Superwash Merino 25% Nylon. Fingering weight (425m/100g). The scarf weighs 62g including fringes
  • before-shrinking & blocking. 16" Kromski Harp. 10 dent. 2.1m warp (?). 42 (84 ends). I tried to weave it loosely on purpose in order to achieve a light fabric so I can wear it in autumn. But after I finished
