Wedding Gown Pfaff

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The fact that my daughter was so happy with the outcome. Also, I had never bustled a gown before. It took 5 buttons because of the weight of the lace and beading. What advice would you give someone starting this project? You need lots of time and patience and a willingness to take things apart if it's not quite right the first time. I started with makeing a muslin and making sure the fit was correct using a duck tape dress form of my daughter which I draped over a regular dress form close to her size. Most of my time was in the beading and overlapping the lace for a seamless look.

What you will need

  • 6 yds 72" Alencon Lace 6yds silk satin 6yds silk organza to underline satin 6yds silk crepe de chine (lining) 5000 Swarovski cream pearls 3000 Swarovski white opal rhinestones

Thank you.
Miss Tasha asked:
~SewingRoom~ Is this a commercial pattern or is this an original of your own creation?
sewingroom answered:
This is my own creation. Unfortunately for me my daughter did find any commercial patterns to her liking but at least she knew exactly what she wanted.
