Viewmaster Zip Bag

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I forgot to add the D-ring to the tab/strap until I had turned the bag right side out, and went back in, carefully opened the layers, added the D-ring, and re-stitched it all. I'm so glad I did, I've clipped the extra strap on several times and it makes it super useful as a clutch purse! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use a 1/4-inch foot for the top-stitching after you sew the zipper in. I LOVE my 1/4-inch foot for top-stitching, it's so nice to use a smaller one and not a big wide presser foot.

What you will need

  • I used Melody Miller's Viewmasters from her Ruby Star Rising collection
  • lined with Rashida Coleman-Hale's Tsuru cranes (the little tab is also Tsuru). I also used a vintage "Bermuda Sea" Coats & Clark zipper. I LOVE IT!!
