Tomato Soup Purse with Matching Jewelry

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Good Tips: I backed the red linen lining with a medium to heavy iron-on stabilizer--giving the purse some body and durability. The purse flap is re-inforced with a layer of buckrum (sp?), a light weight, but extra stiff stabilizer used to sew hat brims. Terrific stuff. Easy to use. You can find it at Hancock Fabrics. Under $3 a yard. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make stabilizers mentioned above part of the foundation of your future purses. You'll love the results.

What you will need

  • Geometric Upholstery Fabric for exterior
  • Red Linen Lining
  • Key Fob
  • Magnetic Snaps
  • and Polymer Clay Beads and Bracelet to go with the Purse

Q&A with Shoestring

mala Tanja asked:
I am so impressed by your work. Please consider a tutorial as soon as you can. A great inspiration.
Shoestring answered:
Hi Tanja - I purchased a video camera a couple of days ago, and I purchased PDF software. Between the two items I hope to start making some tutorials and patterns. Give me some extra time and I'll have a nice tutorial for you on the purse. Thanks for your interest. You moved me along to a new path--something I wanted to try--making tutorials--I needed the nudge to get going. Thanks again.
