The Ultimate Hester Prim T-Shirt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? It's the first garment I've sewn in 34 years. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Slow down. Watch the videos over and over again. Even if you don't make the shirt ever, the sisters are pretty entertaining.

What you will need

  • Some kind of light black denim stretch knit from the bargain aisle. I forget now. The front is just the back side of the fabric.

Q&A with RCinSF

Pohutukawa asked:
Well done looks great!
RCinSF answered:
It looks much better on camera, but thanks for your kind words. I'm going to unsew and resew this week.
Davesmom asked:
Did you have a pattern for your t-shirt? I like the two color look of your t-shirt.
RCinSF answered:
I used the Vogue pattern that came with the Ultimate T-shirt class.
Marcy & Katherine Tilton asked:
I really like what you did here! Fun color blocking and this is the kind of a T that I'd wear a lot....gray being one of my favorite non-color colors...and I have a piece of gray knit on my design table right now, trying to figure out what it wants to be! MT
RCinSF answered:
Thanks for your encouragement.
Marcy & Katherine Tilton asked:
It's cute RC and being a grey girl myself I really like the color combo. I wouldn't rip anything out, I'd start a new shirt! I find I learn heaps by stitching the same pattern over and over (and over) again. Each piece I do leads to the next piece and inspiration and ideas frequently appear in my mind as I'm stitching at the machine. KT
RCinSF answered:
Well you're very kind to say so.
I am quilter asked:
There is NO WAY I would re-sew. If you can afford more fabric, make another. Looks great!
RCinSF answered:
That's very nice of you to say.
