I don't have any written ones. I took the composition book and opened it on top of the jean fabric (wrong side) and marked around the edge with fabric marker, then cut out about 1/2 inch from line. Then I used that piece to cut 2 pieces for inside (where to slip notebook in). I kind of guessed at how wide to cut those pieces. IThen on the large piece that goes around the binder I placed various pre-cute octagon shapes where I wanted them and pinned to denim. I then machine appliqued them to the denim. Then I sewed homemade bias tape on the edge of those pieces where it would show on the inside. Then I put those 2 pieces, right said against the large one on each end, then pinned together. On the section of the big piece where the side pieces do not meet I sewed decorative ribbon there to cover raw edge of denim. I had to unpin a little to get under the edge. Now it was time to sew inside pieces to outer piece. I sewed about 3/8 inch from pencil marking then trimmed with pinking shears close to stitching to cut down on bulkiness . I then turned it and tryed notebook in and if needed you can adjust seam to fit better, maybe wait to trim inside until you do this part!! I hope this wasn't too confusing. I wish I had taken pictures. Sorry!
