Talbots pants

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Having completed the course (and the pants) and that the finishing turned out so well. They are very close to the original pant. I'm also very happy that I have a template for a pant pattern that I like. I look forward to making them again. What advice would you give someone starting this project? It's not as hard as you might think. Try it!

What you will need

  • 100% cotton twill for fashion fabric and 100% cotton for pocket bags.

Very nice look and fit. What a good idea to apply KK's technique to slacks.

Thank you! Which craftsy class has been your favorite?

dorothyr answered:
Prof King does three alterations for the model that he is working on. You make a muslin and transfer the alterations you need to your pattern. The waistband he cuts longer than is needed and fits it on the pants. Hope this helps ...
candylady4 asked:
Could this be done for kids as well? Use their pants as patterns and constructing pants that fit them? The problem we have with my kids, is that they are so thin, it's difficult to find pants that fit even with the adjustable elastic waists.
dorothyr answered:
Yes, you could use the techniques demonstrated in this class for copying children's clothes, in fact for copying any clothes at all!
Ms. BB asked:
These look great on you, nice job!
dorothyr answered:
Thank you. I have a piece of gray fabric I'd like to make into another pair. :o)
