Sewing Kit

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I found the vintage tin in a tiny shop near my home. As I didn't want to alter the 1930's Edgeworth Tobacco tin, I made two little quilted mats that fit perfectly into the top and bottom. I added a pin cushion and elastic band to hold the scissors, and trimmed the inside edge with grosgrain ribbon. I found all the sewing stuff in my stash.

What you will need

  • Vintage tin
  • some fabric
  • ribbon
  • and sewing necessities.

Q&A with Sandy Kramer

Screaming Mimi asked:
Oh I love it! Very clever how you made the pin cushion a pocket as well.
Sandy Kramer answered:
Thank you!
Surfside6 asked:
How cute is that! I have the same tin from my grandfather. I'm almost 70, so you can imagine the age of the tin. I'm curious of the size. Mine is quite small. I really love your fabrics and your imagination
Sandy Kramer answered:
Thank you! The tin is 4 - 1/2 " by 3 - 1/4 ". I googled it, It's from about 1927 - 1930.
shazdove asked:
This is adorable, you have done a great job. I am going to look around for a small tin and make one of these for myself, thanks also for great pictures
Sandy Kramer answered:
Thank you!
