Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am proud of following the directions and not taking any shortcuts. In school home economics classes, I resented the detail work and yet, close attention to the pressing steps and the basting make a huge difference in the finished product. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't have a goal of when you want to WEAR the blouse (such as, TOMORROW). Take it in steps, do over what doesn't look right. I had to tear out the top buttonhole twice, even though I made a sample as Christine told us to. For some reason my machine kept going over to the side on the second zigzag pass. It may have been because of the slightly different levels of bulk underneath. I made a cup of tea (Ceylon) and carefully pulled out the second bad buttonhole without damaging the fabric. Then I did that buttonhole upside down, even though it meant all the bulk of the fabric was on the wrong side of the needle. That time, thankfully, it worked.
