Personalized zipper bag

What was your inspiration? I wanted to start learning my new embroidery machine, so I decided to add my name to this bag as a double-dipper project. I think the one side looks a little wonky because of the embroidery, but it's still useable. Christmas gifts, anyone?

Q&A with AmandaF

Dramagal12 asked:
Looks great! How did you determine the placement? Did you keep your measurements?
AmandaF answered:
I did the embrodery after I serged one side to the zipper and before I did the other side. I basically just placed the name in the middle of the one side. Then I finished serging it up.
gailhardo1881312 asked:
What brand of embroidery sewing machine were you using? I had tried to monogram with mine but it did not like the layers with the fleece in between. How did you overcome the thickness?
AmandaF answered:
I used a Viking Designer SE. I'm not sure what I did to make it work better for the machine. I may have used a thinner batting, but it's been quite a while now so I'm having problems remembering. You could always try embroidering the top layer by itself and then make the bag.
