Owl Purse

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm most proud of getting through the 70s to be honest . . . oh, oh, you meant the owl purse? Being my age, I started the owl embroidery purse project thinking owls are silly, and found myself falling all over again for the little creatures. But, just for the record-- I still don't care for knomes. And, there won't be a knome themed purse ever in my future. I created this owl inspired purse with five pockets: little, big, divided, drop, stacked, zippered. I enjoyed adding orange accents to the interior: orange pull for the the orange zipper. Orange strips of fabric sewn into the turquoise linen, and turquoise batik interior. I'm glad Clarissa selected orange, turquoise, brown. High contrast, high impact. Although when she first suggested the combination of colors my eyes got as big as . . . . an owl! Ha. Ha. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Get your groove on with high contrast color combinations.
