Project

My Red Jacket Express

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I used a light gray topstitching thread to co-ordinate with the nickel buttons. It would have been easier if I had used something that didn't contrast so much, at least for my first try. I can see every little fault in the topstitching and it drives me crazy! Also, I ordered a medium-weight topstitching thread instead of using the heavy thread from my local fabric store. It was really easy to work with and still heavy enough to give the stitching some weight.

Q&A with Karen 67

Imnotsewvanilla asked:
what type of fabric? I cannot tell from the pic and it seems perfect!
Karen 67 answered:
It's a medium weight woven cotton pique and it was wonderful to work with! It's not too thick but very firm and stable so it holds the shape of the jacket well. Plus it's the perfect weight for summer.
