My Knit Franken Pattern

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Once again that it is a knit. That the pattern did not recommend a knit. That I was able to make the flat pattern changes and draft to create a garment that fits and suits my plus size figure. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Please watch the video, take notes, lots of notes. Give yourself the freedom to just give a project a try.....first time or experienced sewers will benefit from the video lessons. I have a review with more of the process details and pictures if you would like to review. HAVE FUN!

Q&A with Scheri Manson

Lynne O asked:
You have done a great job with your dress Scheri, it looks fabulous! When I read about your knit stash I had to smile as I have a shelf in my cupboard packed with knit fabrics too. I can't wait to try a dress - I wear knit (shop bought) dresses a lot and now I can make my own, hooray!
Scheri Manson answered:
Hey Lynne thanks for the kind words. Lets work on that stash.... :)
CraftyNHmom asked:
Wow! What a nice dress. The neckline is so flattering!
Scheri Manson answered:
Thank you. Great compliment from you. I love all your knit tops you have posted. My favorite is the one with the tie at neckline by Jalie
Sew4us asked:
The dress is beautiful and fits you great. Congrats on making a knit dress from a pattern that requires a woven!!
Scheri Manson answered:
Thank you. So what are you going to do next?
Sew4us asked:
I'm going to make the surplice dress again, but this time in a maxi length for my daughter. She is turning 13 this week and fell in love with a tribal print knit so I bought the fabric and am going to surprise her with the dress. After that I'm going to tackle the couture craftsy class that I bought.
Scheri Manson answered:
Thats a great idea for 13 year old girl. She is at the age where they start to want to develop their "style". The Couture course is fantastic.
evie1203 asked:

Scheri Manson answered:
