What are you most proud of? My friend ... he's an awesome person and inspires me to do great things! What advice would you give someone starting this project? I used my own leather travel document folder as my template. I cut two squares for the front and back and one each of the three inside pockets. I cut a heavy weight fusible interfacing a little smaller than the size of the squares. After cutting the fabric, I embroidered my friend's name on one of the squares, then fused the interfacing to the back of that piece. Then I sewed the three pockets to the other square, with about 1/8" allowance. I found the center of the cover square and sewed ribbon to each end for the tie. Once all the pieces were done, I sewed the two squares together, wrong sides together, with a 1/8"seam. I trimmed any edges that required it. I found the center vertical line of the folder and stitched along that line, then top stitched carefully around the edge of the folder. Finally, I folded it along the central stitched line and carefully pressed it. To show my friend what each pocket was for, I made a copy of my passport cover and slipped it into its pocket, cut a piece of paper the size of a frequent flyer award card or ID card and put a note on that and put it in its pocket, and folded a piece of paper the size of a boarding pass and that went into the large pocket! Then I tied the ribbon into a pretty bow.
