What are you most proud of? I love the seet little collar, the bullion rose embroidery that adds to the charm of the dress, and the vintage buttons on the back. The buttons are oyster shell buttons from circa 1890-1910, and were on a card I found in one of the drawers of my great aunt's old treadle sewing machine. They are 1/4" buttons and are just lovely. The sweet little 'bonnet' is from a pattern from the late 1940's. When not in use, the hat lies flat. When ready for wear two corner loops are buttoned to opposite corners in the back to form the bonnet. The matching organdy brim with machin embroidered scalloped edging and bullion rose embroidery embellishment matches the collar on the dress. All in all, a charming wisp of an ensemble to make any baby girl more adorable. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have patience and love what you are doing.
