Gray and Black Purse

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The quality of this purse is far better than anything else I think I've sewed so far. It's difficult to show in pictures, but I'm very proud of taking the time to make sure I did it right. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Start with a sample of material first to make sure you know how it's going to work. Making a muslin for for pieces that you may not know final dimensions or construction processes for is also very helpful and can same real headaches on the final bag.

What you will need

  • Gray and black plaid suiting and faux leather for the accents and bottom half of the bag.

Q&A with LadyReed

Creativewan asked:
if I hadn't of seen this in the Design Your Own Handbag class, I would have thought it was store-bought! You did an awesome job on the color selection, fabric, and stitching on this bag. May I ask what machine you used to make it on?
LadyReed answered:
I have a basic Brother machine, nothing fancy. It really didn't like some of the thicker parts, but I insisted! :)
