Embellished Purse

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I added a handmade polymer clay zipper pull to the main 9 x 12 purse, and a knotted carrying strap to wear purse cross body, or over the shoulder. My favorite way to carry the purse is around my neck--leaving my hands free. I put my Kindle in the purse, pull out my earbuds, put the purse 'round my neck--and off I go for a walk! I had plenty of decorated fabric leftover to make a MATCHING COIN PURSE. I added an o-ring and wristlet connector to small fabric tab on the coin purse. Sometimes you don't want to drag a purse around--and that's when the medium coin purse is perfect. I repeated decorative sewing machine stitches on the wristlet connector. The coin purse is the right size for cash, coin, i.d., and cell phone. How great is that????? What advice would you give someone starting this project? Learn from the best--take Carol Ann Waugh's online Craftsy course, "Stupendous Stiching" and learn how to decorate fabric YOUR STYLE. Let the fun begin! Leave me a note if you'd like information where to buy the metal wristlet connectors. Set of 50 is quite reasonable and easy to crimp onto a fabric strap you make or on a 1 inch wide woven strap from your favorite sewing supply store.
