Q&A with JBrbio

JBrbio asked:
I learned a lot from this project but unfortunately I always make a mess when I sew (started sewing 50+ years ago, quit after many years of frustration). I am hoping to make another jacket and do a better job next time with what I have learned. The jacket is too big so next time I will make a size or two smaller. I will also stay-stitch the neckline! This was a great class but I'm just not a good sewer.
JBrbio answered:
Thanks, everyone. I am taking the Plus Size fitting class. Janet, I am going to make the next jacket a size smaller. The presser feet on my machine were all too big and I frequently couldn't see what I was sewing. After I finished the jacket, I located a straight stitch foot with the narrow prongs and I think it will help a lot. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and advice!
HellyH asked:
I'm not laughing because it really isn't that bad. I made a mess of mine and abandoned it! I will make another because it was a really good class. Hope your next one goes well, think positive!
JBrbio answered:
Thank you! I'm getting ready to make another one. Maybe I should have made a muslin one first, but I believe I can take what I've learned from the first one and do a better job.
