Coverstitch hem on yoga pants

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The hem really looks nice using the coverstitch machine. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Angela's class was very helpful. You don't need a coverstitch machine to do the hems but I recently acquired one. You can use a twin needle to mimic the look.

Angela Wolf asked:
Very nice job! They look perfect :)
SweetJasmine answered:
Thanks. I haven't been so excited about a hem before. LOL!
Tariela asked:
Awesome work. How did you achieve this technique?
SweetJasmine answered:
I used a coverstitch hem machine, Janome 1000CP. It makes this triple stitch rows on the top and chain stitch on the bottom like ready to wear clothes. You can use twin needles in your sewing machine to make the double stitch look too.
Judy Kski asked:
Your work with the 1000CP looks awesome. What great hems that machine can do. I need to try out the 3-thread cover stitch on the next thing I make. You've inspired me!
SweetJasmine answered:
Thanks! I bought a second identical pair of yoga pants just so I could hem it using my coverstitch machine! A friend just asked me to hem her t-shirt. Of course I said yes so I could use this machine again.
sinnakana7231979 asked:
How do you do this stich? For the pants hem.
SweetJasmine answered:
You need a coverstitch machine like the Janome 1000cp or 1000cpx to do this type of stitch.
