Corduroy chaise

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The great job I did on the arm! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be patient! This project took me two months, and a lot of it was really tedious. But I looooooove the finished product, so it was totally worth it.

What you will need

  • Miles of corduroy fabric!

Q&A with CatherineS

Nikolett asked:
This is inspiring. How exactly did you go about doing this? What did you attach the fabric with? I would love to do something similar with my couch just have no clue how to start and well how to continue after. :)
CatherineS answered:
Thank you! I mostly actually sewed the fabric onto the chaise, and I used a staple gun to finish off the bottom. I did a lot of sketches and measurements beforehand to figure out what different pieces I would need and approximate sizes. I also did a "practice run" (no sewing) where I cute pieces of muslin and pinned them to the chaise, then trimmed to the right size. I used those pieces as my pattern templates for cutting the corduroy. In retrospect, I do wish I'd read up on "proper" reupholstering techniques but overall I'm happy with the results.
