That it turned out exactly the way it was supposed to! And I figured out how to mark the position for the ears on the right side of the fabric. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Two things: First, if you are marking the position for the ears and eyes on the wrong side of the fabric, you'll want to make sure you also note these position on the right side. I didn't think of it at first, but I ended up doing two things that were not as instructed in the book. First, I didn't want to mark up the right side of the fabric, so instead I sewed an unknotted running stitch along the marks on the wrong side. Once I had the elephant sewed together and was adding the ears, the running stitch provided a nice dotted line to follow, and I just pulled it out when I was done. Second, I decided to add the eyes before I sewed the elephant together. First because my markings were on the wrong side and wouldn't be visible once sewed together, but I also realized that it would be much easier to do before putting in the stuffing and sewing up. I'm quite pleased with the result.
