Big Tote

Project Description

What was your inspiration? I give monthly book talks to fifth grade students and I needed a big bag to carry books that I borrow from the library. This one holds up to 20 books.

What you will need

  • Home decorating fabric
  • quilt batting
  • cotton for lining.

Q&A with K Lee 2Strings

Artmomma asked:
I would need a bag on wheels to carry twenty books but I love your bag. Congratulations for going into classrooms! Students get so much from visitors in their classrooms. You may never know who's life you have touched but know you touch lives with your service.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
I could't just walk away from the kids forever. This really is a BIG bag!
Cara Michelle asked:
Really cute and feminine.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you.
stitcherette asked:
Love your bag,,,
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you. I made it to carry children's library books back and forth so it's really generously sized.
Shoestring asked:
I love the look of your bag. Double flaps are oustanding. I enjoyed reading about you in your profile. What a wonderful family, and rich in talent mentors. Wish I were your neighbor and friend so I could attend your Tuesday night sewing group. Best wishes.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Oh, thank you for the nice words. Like you, I love pockets. I always build too many into my bags, but in this case the double flaps work very well. I needed an extra section for carrying my iPad and notes and this is just perfect. If you ever come through Lincoln on a Tuesday, I'd love to have you stop by and join my sewing group. :).
Shoestring asked:
Wow 2strings! I'd love to attend your Tuesday night sewing group. I'll keep you in mind if I make a trip to Lincoln for a sewing seminar. Keep your eyes open for an opportunity for me. Likewise, if you get to my rural area in Wisconsin (60 miles west of Green Bay), please bring your bags and settle in for a stay at our old Victorian. Goggle: 1893victorianfarmhouse---I have a 800 sq. ft. studio where we can play all day long, and order out pizza.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Omigosh! An actual studio would be my dream. I'm squished into a little extra bedroom with hardly an inch to move. The extra space would be wonderful, but I likely wouldn't be any more productive.
