A fun new Purse

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Dixie DYI purse Link to website or photo dixiediy.blogspot.com.au/2011/02/downloadable-wallet-pattern.html What are you most proud of? The coin pocket and the zip. It came up really well! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure you line everything up, as you will see mine is a bit wonky and a bit too short. I think I gave it too much seam allowance and hence the reason it is a bit short adn the credit card pockets don't quite fit. Also I used a 6 Inch zip instead of a 7 Inch zip.

What you will need

  • Cotton Drill
  • Interfacing and a zip

Q&A with BridgetaDyer

LearntoSew asked:
I like it. I'm in the process of making the same wallet. I made a muslin first to make sure I understood the instructions.
BridgetaDyer answered:
That is what I should hasve done! But I got to excited. Looking forward to seeing your wallet finidhed :)
LearntoSew asked:
I know what you mean. When I first heard about muslins, I thought it was a waste of time. After a lot of disappointing finished projects with my fashion fabrics, I decided muslins were not such a bad idea. I will post the wallet when it's done.
BridgetaDyer answered:
Can't wait to see it :)
DonnaDeCourcy asked:
Great fabric! I now know the value of muslins, too! Kind of like doing the swatch test in knitting to check the gauge! Hate doing that too, but it saves grief!
BridgetaDyer answered:
Thanks! Have to bite the bullet and make one!
