They are made sturdy with a layer of Peltex, but can also be made soft using fusible fleece or batting. You could even very easily sew this entire project by hand with no problem. The handles shown here are made from a thrift shop leather belt sI bought for 50 cents but you can also use scraps of leather (or pleather!). The handles can also be left off if you prefer. The pattern now includes directions on how to create ANY custom size basket. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS (original size): 8" wide x 5" high x 5" deep

Recommended with this pattern

  • Peltex Ultra Firm Single Sided Fusible 71F
  • One FQ quilting cotton for lining
  • One FQ quilting cotton or linen for outer

Hello and thanks for visiting! My name is nicole and I spend my days livin' the dream (and working my butt off) on a small farm in southern colorado with my husband and our furry flock. I am trained as a graphic designer and photographer and spent 10 years working in the industry before 'quitting my day job' in 2008 to pursue my own design business and start my jewelry shop, lillyella metal works. After recently scaling back my larger design clients, I now focus on working with other artists and small businesses. This has also allowed me the opportunity to pursue my love of sewing and launch 'lillyella stitchery' where you will find unique and original sewing patterns, as well as a few handmade soft goods. Thanks so much for stopping by!
