PATTERN DETAILS

This string backpack was inspired by my recent trip to NYC. I met my aunt one evening for dinner and she was carrying a jacket and an extra pair of shoes in a really cheesy bag. I suggested that I need to make her a tote bag. She told me what she really wanted was a string backpack. I love pockets and I looked around and couldn't find any directions for exactly what I wanted. So I started playing with fabric and zippers and this is what I came up with. This string backpack features a zippered pockets on the outside, full lining with no exposed seams, 2 pockets inside and a key clip. My name is Nancy and I am the mother of two amazing teenagers, one daughter and one son. They are both hockey players. I am married to a wonderful man who is my biggest supporter and without whom, my dream of establishing an online quilt shop, www.lovequilting.com, would not have become a reality. I started my career in the 1980’s in the construction industry, as one of very few women at the time. I proudly worked my way up to the role as Chief Estimator for a commercial metal stud framing and drywall contractor. Along the way, in the early 2000’s, I found my inner passion for quilting. I created an online quilt shop as a portal to share my passion for not just the luscious fabrics available today, but also for the process of creating wonderful quilts and projects. Lovequilting.com carries only top quality quilt fabric and patterns to offer you an enjoyable shopping experience. What else do I love besides my family and quilting? Chocolate, the beach, Christmas and my pets, who are technically part of my family, but I hadn’t mentioned them before. Three long hair dachshunds (2 miniature and 1 standard) – Lilo, Stitch and Noni, and one calico cat named Minnie.
