Pattern Details

The design for this pouf started out with creating a base to braid knitted 'cables' around. But after I discovered these great upholstery fabric swatches I had laying around, the basic design turned into something not so basic. I really love the result of the colours twisting around the pouf. I achieved this look by using the colours in a diagonal direction. And because I started with the darker colours on the top and used lighter ones towards the bottom the pouf turned out to have two totally different looks if you turn it around. I call them the 'summer' and 'winter' side. I did start to make the knitted 'cables' so maybe I'll make a removable cover to change the look of the pouf now and then. This pattern with instructions contains a 50cm wide × 35cm high pouf. In addition to the colour combination in the picture, I have added other colour suggestions. To try out your own colour combination you can also find a colouring stencil in these instructions. This PDF pattern contains: ▪ Instructions with photo’s & text ▪ All the necessary measurements for the pouf of 50cm wide x 35cm high ( ca. 20" wide x 14" high) ▪ Colouring stencil ▪ Two extra colour suggestions

Stacey's Craft Designs
Hi, my name is Stacey (what a surprise huh?). Lovely to meet you. I live in The Netherlands and I love working with my hands in all sorts of disciplines. Cooking, baking, wood working, gardening, embroidery and making things with felt. But my biggest passion is patchworking and quilting. After making a few quilts using other designers’ patterns, I started to design my own quilts and other patchwork projects. Designing and making my own quilts came naturally to me, as I have a history in craft and designing. First in designing and making furniture and later attending Art School (yes yes, I’m a Bachelor of Design). After working in corporate business as an interior designer for more than a decade, I decided to quit my job and follow my heart and (crafty) creative ambitions by starting this website to share my projects and patterns. The inspiration for my quilt designs and other sewing projects comes from different directions. A good example is my Parquet Quilt, this design is inspired by herringbone parquet floors. And if I design a quilt for someone I know, the biggest inspirational factor is that person and their home. After sketching my initial idea I sometimes continue directly with working out the exact measurements and sewing technique. But other ideas are shelved for future development. While working on a project intended for a pattern, I make sure to note all my steps, mostly by taking pictures of the process. After the project is finished I produce the pattern with instructions using pictures, drawings, schedules and text to make the sewing process as understandable as possible. All my patterns include colouring stencils and I often add bonus material in the form of extra quilt sizes or cushions in the same style. Check out all my patterns in my pattern store. Hopefully you’ll enjoy them all as much as I do. Kind wishes, Stacey
