The Sophia Totes Every time I went to the grocery store with my freebie reusible shopping bags they looked shabby. When it was time to load the groceries, their flimsy fabric would not allow the bags to stand open frustrating me or the bagger. I designed these bags to be pretty and practical. They are sturdy and stylish! The construction is super quick and easy, but the finished bags nest to carry all together. I like to leave them nested and fill them from the smallest one on up. They stand up nicely and if I don't use all four bags, the extra is nested and ready to carry out. What a great gift! Who wouldn't want a sharp looking set of bags to use over and over. No more ripped sacks, split plastic, and don't we all want to be green! Many retailers now pay you to bring your own bags to shop. I used quilt weight cotton, but you could use heavier canvas or even tapestry fabrics for a variety of looks. A cute trim around the top edge, or even add a simple pocket, make the look your own! ================================== Patterns by Gaila Designs ================================== This detailed pattern will take you step-by-step through the construction of the bags. Every step is described and a full color photograph is provided to illustrate the step.
