PATTERN DETAILS

The Claire Case PDF pattern instructions to make this fitted, lined, padded cover with zipper. Beautiful yet super simple to construct case for your eReader! When I got my eReader, the cases at the store were so boring. I wanted to protect my new device, but I wanted it to be beautiful too. This was the first style I designed for my Nook. It is simple, quick to stitch up and feels great in your hand, Slips easily into your purse or briefcase and protects your reader without adding any bulk. ================================== Patterns by Gaila Designs ================================== This detailed pattern will take you step-by-step through the construction of the cover. Every step is described and a full color photograph is provided to illustrate the step. No assuptions of skill are made (other than operating your sewing machine!) and each step is brief and logically stated in large print. I have been sewing for interiors for over 20 years and have attended numerous classes, seminars and other instructional venues. I hope that sharing my experience with you in making beautiful items for your home will give you much pleasure and lessen frustration with trying to 'figure out' how to make an item without instructions. I also offer sewing tips and brief tutorials on my blog at www.gailadesigns.blogspot.com Questions or concerns about the pattern are welcome! ================================== Permissions for pattern use ================================== If you would like to use this pattern to create cases to sell online or elsewhere, that is permissable. Please include a note of credit for the pattern source and a link to my Craftsy store. Individual pieces sewn by you are wonderful, no mass production is permitted. This pattern is legally protected by copyright. Photocopying, electronic distriburion, publication, printing, posting online or reproducing any portion of the instructions, photographs, or pattern without permission is strictly prohibited. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY If you can sew a straight line, you can make this cover. No special or advanced skills are needed. If you have never installed a zipper, no problem! The method used is extremely easy. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS The pattern for this set of instructions will fit Kindle (except DX), Nook, Nook Color, Sony eReader, Kobo Reader, or any device up to 8" x 5" x 1/2". Instructions are included to adjust the pattern for some of the new smaller eReader models. If your eReader is 8.1" x 5" x 1/2" OR SMALLER, this pattern will fit. The case is fitted, so it is designed to protect and enhance an uncovered device.

Recommended with this pattern

  • 2 pieces of fabric about 8" wide by 11" tall - consider pattern or motif placement so you will have enough yardage to cut 2 pieces in this size.
  • 2 pieces of lining about 8" wide by 11" tall
  • Batting in poly or cotton, 2 pieces about the same size as above
